This remains the least untouched market in the area. It a 3 - hour drive east of Sapa via Lao Cai which takes us through beautiful scenery. The market is frequented by a wide variety of ethnic minority groups, including: Black H'mong, DDzay, Tay, Red H'mong, Lu, Ha Nhi and Flower H'mong. There is a lot to see in this interesting and very rural market.

The Dao in Muong HumAs is the case with all local markets in Vietnam - it's an early start and early finish. Therefore, we depart from the hotel by minibus at approximately 07.30. We take the road to Lao Cai before heading further east towards Bac Ha and onwards to Muong Hum. You have the opportunity to stroll around the market on your own. After visiting the market we head to Bac Ha Town where you have the opportunity to wander around the town and take lunch before meeting again at a prearranged point.

In the afternoon, we take a short walk to the nearby village of Ha Nhi. After observing daily life in the village, we ontinue by bus back to Sa Pa via Lao Cai (where it's possible for guests to catch their train back to Hanoi.
